Our Top 5 Training Jams
Ever wondered what your trainer, instructor or the person killing their workout beside you is listening to? Here are our faves!! Leave a comment and share what your “In the Zone” tracks are!
There is conflicting scientific data that notes some improvement in exercise performance when music is added and other studies show little change. Regardless of the studies we at The Sweat Shop know what a great song and some motivation can help us accomplish.
Research from the University of New Mexico provides this insight: “The research applications suggest that fitness teachers may benefit their students by playing music that in many ways depicts the intensity of the upcoming workout as students enter the workout room. In this way, the increases in respiration and moderate increases in heart rate from the music will better prepare the students for the forthcoming workout.” https://www.unm.edu/~lkravitz/Article%20folder/musicexercise.html
Now without further ado here are our Trainer/Instructor/Coaches favorite tracks to listen to during an intense training session.
Top 5 & Why!
Revival by J– Instructor Jordan Clawson
Music is what gets me through! In the past few weeks, I’ve changed my training routine and have added some heavy lifting and more cardio! Cardio is not my forte, so I have to compensate with good music! I love to get started with a song that gets my blood flowing and gets me moving! It maybe my favorite trending song so it’s ever changing. The songs that fuel my workout have got to be FIRE! (Yes I get a little hype). To cool down I end with something a little slower, to bring my heart rate down and something with a message! Fill me up a bit, remind myself about why I do what I do! Here’s a peak into one of my playlists! Steal a song or two and kill your workout too!
Top 5 songs in no particular order:
CAP Training- Coach Joel Corona
These are my top 5 songs in my playlist. The reason I chose these songs is because of the beat, the guitar, the drums and the lyrics. From the sick guitar playing of Avenge Sevenfold to the lyrics of Machine Gun kelly, the days when I feel like I don’t want to work out or I cannot get into my zone, anyone of these songs will amp me up. Each of these songs get my blood pumping and prepare me to smash a monster workout.
Top 5 songs in no particular order:
1. Avenge Sevenfold- Hail to the king
2. Bullet For My Valentine- Your betrayal
3.Kevin Gates- Luca Brasi intro
4.Red Hot Chili Peppers- Can’t Stop
5. Machine Gun Kelly- Bad Mother F*cker
Kwik Sweat- Instructor Denise Corona
I am forever changing the music I listen to, trying out new artists and genres. It was really difficult to narrow the top 5 but I managed. These songs trigger parts of myself that I sometimes didn’t know were there. Squatting my max, setting my personal Deadlift PR or just setting a goal to run 10 laps without stopping is always made more attainable when music is blasting in my headphones. This is my list during a badass lifting session.
